On September 16, 2012, West Point Grey Community Centre celebrated the 100th year of Aberthau Mansion. The event brought together people from all over the West Point Grey community and community at large including members of the Rear and Spencer families, the original owners, to celebrate the history of the mansion, that is now home to the community centre. It was a celebration like no other with horse and carriage rides, afternoon tea, carnival games, artist workshops, arts and crafts, historical tours of the house, pottery demonstrations, a BBQ, class demonstrations, vintage car displays, dress-up photo booth, a tree planting ceremony, speeches, cake cutting and musical performances. We look forward to the next 100 years.
