Natalie has been the Recreation Programmer at our centre for the past 7 years and is transferring to the Roundhouse Community Centre in the middle of December. She started as the Special Events Coordinator in the Summer of 2012 organizing the 100th year celebration of Aberthau Mansion and that Fall became our Programmer for the areas of Preschool, Children, Youth, Day Camps, Playgrounds, Pottery, Special Events and Marketing. Natalie has an extreme amount of passion, commitment and pride for the work that she does and has created some amazing programs, events and relationships here over the years that will certainly be a part of her legacy. Some of Natalie’s fondest memories and proudest accomplishments are the licensing of the Preschool, the introduction of Birthday Parties with a Bouncy Castle, Summer Day Camps, the renovations of the Pottery Studio and April workshops, Family Fun Nights at Trimble Park, the introduction of the Afternoon Teas, Pottery and Wine, Wine and Paint Nights, the Movie in the Park, the 100th year celebration of Aberthau, Fiesta, really just all of the Special Events, taking pictures for all of WPG’s marketing and placing WPG on the web with a brand new website and social media. But the relationships made with the children, youth, families and members of the community and helping to create a community within our community will be what Natalie will miss the most.
Kathryn has been the Recreation Supervisor for the past 4 years and will also be transferring to the Roundhouse Community Centre. Kathryn has truly found this facility and its location to be one of a kind. She has grown both professionally and personally during her time here and will greatly miss this centre, the staff team, the board and patrons that make this centre what it is. Kathryn played a role in the improvements that the centre saw during her time most notably the completion of our accessibility pathway back in 2015, a full Aberthau Mansion exterior rejuvenation in 2018 and Youth Room Renovation wrapping up this Fall. Kathryn is proud to have been a part of enhancing Arts and Culture at this facility and supporting staff and board in creating the foundation for future Arts and Culture opportunities at West Point Grey. She is excited for what the future holds for the centre and although under new leadership, Kathryn knows the staff and board of West Point Grey will continue to thrive and grow and offer excellent services to our community.
We will wish both Natalie and Kathryn the very best at the Roundhouse Community Centre and will miss them and all of their work at the centre.
